Worst Day Ever is the true max mode of Mr. Krab’s Night of Terror, it is True Showdown with all 3 challenges active. Back when MKNOT 1.0 was out, I told myself “I’m gonna do this and kick this modes ass” and I ended up doing True Showdown with Long Nights and Greenhouse Effect and while that was cool, there was still a very big difficulty gap that still had to be learned…Ultimatum mode. Ultimatum mode in MKNOT is basically aggressive mode from fnacecr where each character is given a small buff that makes them harder to deal with. When trying this on 1.0 it felt impossible but I did end up getting an 8am run on it so I figured it was at least possible in some sense. However after getting that 8am run my motivation for the mode became nonexistent and I would drop it for a year. Fast forward a year later and I’m ready to pick up Worst Day Ever again no matter the cost. I then find out that MKNOT is getting a 2.0 update, which honestly left me speechless as I never expected Matt to make a 2.0 update to this game. Anywho beta testing for MKNOT 2.0 would begin and I would go on to beat True Showdown on the first day of beta testing and it felt so much better to play and the gameplay felt so much smoother, everything about it just felt good (something about it not being a complete script I think also made it a lot better). I would then start building up to True Showdown with Ultimatum mode turned on because I knew if I wanted WDE to be possible I would have to mess around with the hardest challenge first. Build up went well and after about like 5 hours of build up/grinding True Showdown Ultimatum was finally done. This being possible single handedly proved that Worst Day Ever was possible as the other two challenges to add in were long nights and the pathogen which really don’t make you use extra power. I would attempt WDE on this same day and I would get a 5:16 on it in 15 minutes of playing but something about this experience felt off…it didn’t feel like the big bad mode it’s been anticipated to be…it felt….too easy….. 9/17/2024 (doomsday) On September 17th, 2024, while I was taking a shower I got an interesting thought that totally wasn’t inspired by redacted in one night at frogger’s. “What if Worst Day Ever had buffs that made the mode harder, that would be kinda funny me thinks.” And so the Worst Day Ever Buffs document was made and I brewed up some evil shit and with the help of Astromic it became eviler. Once the buffs were finalized by me and astromic I pitched the buffs to Matt thinking “there is no way he actually adds these in, I’m gonna have to like get down on my knees and suck his di- I mean beg for him to add these in.” Surprisingly Matt wasn’t opposed to adding these buffs and actually added them in without me begging for him to do so. These buffs made the mode go from top 30 to at least harder than ssm. Here’s the buffs that got added: Monochromatic Malice: The screen colors change periodically, eventually landing on a bright green color Global Warming: Leaving the doors closed for too long permanently disabled them. Costume’s Comeback: The Costume in the cams and door becomes active. Fake Costumes in cams also appear Ad-Pocalypse: Ads will now appear and rotate on your screen. You must wait a few seconds and click them to make them disappear. Hyper Mode: The first seven characters gain a slight speed buff. Plankton’s Plot: Planktons fling across the office when he is not active. Not catching them will make you lose 1% power. I Am Happy: Happy now appears in every camera except for the one you open the monitor in. These buffs made the mode a lot harder and progress would be slow but I would just have to accept any pb for what it was no matter how big or small it was. Pbs were usually small or like 30 second to 1 minute flukes which I had no idea how I pulled those off.
