After thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2024, I’m gearing up for my next big adventure… the Pacific Crest Trail. In this video I break down my current PCT gear setup, including my Big 4, sleep system, pack, and the rest of the gear I’ll be carrying from Campo, California to Canada. This is not my final gear list yet. I’m still dialing things in & I’d love feedback from experienced thru hikers. If you’ve hiked the PCT, CDT, or AT, drop your suggestions in the comments. My Big 4 base weight is currently 5.68 lbs, and I’m trying to keep the whole setup light, simple, and trail tested. A couple items like microspikes and an ice axe will be sent to Kennedy Meadows through the Trevor’s Spikes Program, so they’re not included here. If you’re planning a thru-hike or just love gear talk, this video should help you see what works and what might not. Let me know in the comments: What gear would you change before starting the PCT? And if you enjoyed the video, make sure to subscribe and follow along as we prepare for the adventure. Let’s get ready to hike! #PacificCrestTrail #PCT2026 #PCTGear #ThruHiking #UltralightBackpacking #BackpackingGear #HikingGear #ThruHiker #PCTPrep #Backpacking
