Unity side UNITY : Flinty Ranks, Specky Ranks, Demon Rockers, Colourman TAURUS : Sister Verna, Ricky Ranking, Jah Screechy, Daddy Milo, Horseman, Principle, Daddy Freddie, Thriller, Blacka T, Bugsy Malone, Nitty Gritty. The last ever dance in People's Club (formally Q Club). These two sounds played each other many times over the years, so know each other well. In fact, they almost came on road the same time (Unity '82' and Taurus '83'). Dance started out level vibes, then the almshouse started!! This is one of my favorite Unity dances! In the mid to late 80's, Jammy's tunes/riddim's were running ting's and Unity played most of them before anybody else! They played nuff in this dance and some bad special's too. Flinty, Specky and Demon in a lyrics clash with Daddy Freddie. Ricky and Horseman work together like clockwork. There was a long running beef from Nitty Gritty towards Unity sound. Taurus.....the original bad boy Brixton sound! Not afraid to play/clash with anybody anywhere. Started out where Frontline sound left off with Chucky Judah, Daddy Milo (Welton Youth), Principle (Baby Welly) amongst them. Started out as a blues dance sound, but soon moved into the big dance arena and played everybody including Killermanjaro and King Jammy's. Main mc the legendary godfather Ricky Ranking. They were never a 'big' dubplate sound in the early days, until 1986 when they linked up with Snack Jack from Metromedia. After that a trailer load of Tubby's specials and some Jammy's.
