The Jokers was a popular instrumental band in Antwerp/Belgium, featuring the incredible guitarist Ronny Sigo (recently passed). Tabou was written by Cuban singer Margarita Lecuona in the mid 40’s. The song was recorded by The Jokers in Belgium 1964. Tabou is a town (commune) in the far southwest of Ivory Coast, near the border of Liberia. In 1904, Ivory Coast became part of French West Africa until 1960 when the country regained independence from France.
