UK FLOODS DISASTER - Major Parts of UK UNDER WATER as River Thames Bursts its Banks Boris Johnson today reassured Londoners that "maximum preparations" were under way to help protect the capital from flooding. The Mayor, who held an emergency resilience meeting with police, fire services and councils at City Hall last night, insisted the city was "as prepared as we can be". With the Environment Agency fearing that further rain will result in the wettest winter in 250 years, experts at Deloitte today said the cost of the clear-up could cost insurers £1 billion by April. Fourteen severe flood warnings remain in place along a ten-mile stretch of the Thames with some parts of the river a few miles upstream from London, including Datchet and Wraysbury, under threat. Scientists have told Sky News that groundwater levels are now so high that parts of Britain face a serious risk of flooding for weeks or even months to come. Andy McKenzie, a groundwater scientist at the British Geological Survey, told Sky News that even if the rain stopped today, so much water is soaking through the soil that levels are likely to keep rising for another two months. The risk of flooding could remain high until May, he said. Figures exclusively revealed to Sky News show that boreholes used to measure the height of the water table are overflowing in many areas, with the highest levels ever recorded. According to the data from the British Geological Survey nine of the 14 boreholes in southern England are now showing "exceptionally high levels". Floods across Britain. Groundwater flood alerts are now in place across much of southern Britain At Chilgrove House in Sussex the groundwater level at the end of January beat records going back 179 years. And at a borehole at The Well House Inn in Surrey the extraordinary rainfall has pushed up the water table by 20 metres in the last two weeks. The British Geological Survey estimates 1.6 million properties in England and Wales are at risk of groundwater flooding. They tend to be in low-lying areas where water is pushed up through rocks. They can be in normally dry areas, far from rivers and streams. The Environment Agency (EA) has already issued groundwater flood alerts for parts of south London, Kent, Surrey, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Hampshire and Dorset. Residents have been evacuated from their flood-hit homes along the River Thames and thousands of other properties are at risk as record water levels are set to rise further. Parts of the Thames Valley are submerged with hundreds of homes flooded, and levels in at least 10 places at an all-time high. With more rain forecast to fall overnight, police have declared a "major incident" in east Berkshire. Speaking in regards to Massachusetts' new $50 million climate change proposal, MIT Professor Richard Lindzen, a leading figure in the climate change movement, pointed out the absurdity of blaming every weather event on global warming and climate change. "Global warming, climate change, all these things are just a dream come true for politicians. The opportunities for taxation, for policies, for control, for crony capitalism are just immense, you can see their eyes bulge," Lindzen said. From 2007 to 2009, Al Gore hysterically warned that the North Pole would be completely "ice-free" by 2013. Instead, 2013 experienced record breaking cold and major growth in Arctic ice. money flooding floods rain "heavy rain" warning prepare "river thames" london uk "united kingdom" river somerset "royal marines" evacuation damage "home insurance" "house insurance" property crisis england "london england" "british army" army survive survival rainfall nature "act of god" weather "extreme weather" extreme protection resident transport train government government 2014 climate "green energy" "climate change" "global warming" humanity u.s. australia "united states" usa america entertainment news media "agenda nwo" alex jones david icke lindsey williams bill clinton obama mars moon weather manipulation modification jet stream cloud seeding what in the world are they spraying chemtrails contrails proof wake up matrix beadledom 911 markets Climate change alarmists have become so crazed in their beliefs that some have attempted to equate skepticism with racism, claiming any denial of global warming is a "sickness" in need of "treatment." Unsurprisingly, major environmental issues such as the ongoing Fukushima nuclear disaster are completely ignored by Gore and company. Given the massive amount of money Gore has continued to make from generating climate fear, it seems unlikely that any real disaster unable to generate cash will receive proper attention. Prince Charles has called people who deny human-made climate change a "headless chicken brigade" who are ignoring overwhelming scientific evidence.
