Dedicated board member whose advocacy transformed IREM’s Commitment to Inclusion The IREM® Boston Metropolitan Chapter No. 4 is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Kimberly Parker, a respected leader, dedicated volunteer, and passionate advocate for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the real estate management profession. Parker, who joined the property management industry in 1986 as a part-time receptionist, quickly rose through the ranks, most recently as a senior property manager with John M. Corcoran & Company, where she served as the designated Minority Business Enterprise outreach coordinator for the firm. Her industry designations as a CPM, ARM,C20P, COS, CMM, CMH, SBBS reflected her deep expertise and professionalism. A long-time IREM member, Parker’s contributions were transformative, particularly in the area of DEI. She built foundational programs as chair of the Boston chapter’s DEI Committee, shaped national DEI strategy as chair of IREM’s National Diversity Advisory Board, and established the first chapter-level DEI award, creating a model for broader adoption. Her vision and advocacy were instrumental in the creation of DEI-focused categories within the IREM Real Estate Management Excellence (REME) Awards, elevating the recognition of individuals and organizations making meaningful contributions to equity and inclusion in real estate management. In 2021, Parker was selected as a REME Award finalist in the individual category. That same year she served as IREM’s Global DEI Chairperson, supporting more than 20,000 members and across countries including South Africa, Japan, and Canada. Parker was elected to the IREM Boston Chapter’s Board of Directors in 2024, bringing her chapter experience, national DEI leadership, and industry knowledge to the organization’s highest level of governance. Parker frequently represented IREM at events, chapter programs, and national initiatives, helping to broaden participation and reinforce the organization’s commitment to DEI. Known for her mentorship and ability to inspire others, Parker championed emerging industry professionals and elevated diverse voices. Her influence and leadership has made a lasting imprint on IREM and the broader real estate management community. “Our deepest condolences are extended to Kimberly’s family, friends, colleagues, and all who were touched by her leadership and spirit,” said Yoany Vargas, 2026 president of IREM Boston Metropolitan Chapter No. 4. “We honor her legacy and remain committed to carrying forward the work she cared so deeply about.” Thank you for your generosity!
