I fell in love with it back in Christmas of '99 and has been lodged deeply in my heart ever since! For me, this is the most difficult Disney show to shoot. It's tremendously challenging to capture all the elements of the show at once. The view of the lands across the lake, the fountains, the globe, the lasers and of course the fireworks at different altitudes and angles. Then add the all extremely fast changing brightness levels?...whew! It's an overwhelming videography task for sure. (trying to preserve detail and color in the blacks without burning all the highlights is impossible with a 11.5 stop dynamic range camera) Anyhoo,...I created two versions of ROE...."Globe View" and "Natural View". "Natural View" - A straight forward edit that tries it's best to show you the globe, fountains, lands and fireworks at the best times. It's a "no gimmick" view. "Globe View" - My personal favorite! Shows a synthetic "floating globe" view the story inside the globe simultaneously with other angles of the show. Yes, it's a very "unnatural" way to watch ROE but does allow take in more of it per minute. It's "high gimmick" view. (It's like eating an ice cream sundae with one spoon in each hand instead of just one....you can shovel more of it in 15 min) As always, each video is very, VERY carefully mixed in 5.1 surround sound and intended for a BIG home theater experience. The DVD's and Blu-ray's both have allot of extra special content and even allow for LIVE camera angle switching during playback! WOW! ;-) Cliff p.s. This is a new YouTube upload for 2013. I have removed all previous uploads in favor of better quality replacements this year. (April 2013) I don't care about the YouTube hit counters ;-)
