Get 20% off Car Vertical using code Carwow: https://bit.ly/Carwow-Car-Vertical This is the all-new Volvo EX90! The EX90 is the all-electric successor to one of Volvo’s most legendary family haulers, the XC90. However, it’s now been fully future-proofed with massive batteries, state-of-the-art safety tech, and a heavy dose of Scandinavian minimalism… The question is, can a luxury EV SUV this massive really be the ultimate family car? Well before we find that out let’s take a closer look at what makes up the Volvo EX90. At the front you have a sleek, blanked-off grille with incredible ‘Thor’s Hammer’ DRLs that actually open up to reveal the main headlights like a blinking robot. Moving around to the side you have flush door handles, huge aerodynamic alloy wheels, and a prominent LiDAR bump on the roof that makes it look a bit like a futuristic taxi. At the back, you have a modern take on Volvo's signature styling with striking split vertical taillights. Being a flagship dual-motor EV, of course it has to have more power than the old XC90. We now have 517hp and a massive 910nm of torque. That power goes to all four wheels and it’s supposed to do 0-60 in just 4.7 seconds. But can it really do that when it weighs a colossal 2,811kg? Moving to the inside, we lose a lot of the physical controls in favour of a massive 14.5-inch portrait touchscreen, but there’s beautiful sustainably-sourced 'Nordico' stitching throughout the cabin, an amazing Bowers & Wilkins sound system, and seating for seven with plenty of light flooding in through the panoramic roof. Prices start from £80,160 then rise up to £97,760 for the fully-loaded Ultra Performance version featured in this video. Is it worth it though? Stick with Mat to find out!
