Welcome to Point Hope Shipyard in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. In this video, we follow the G.M. Penman on her journey back to the sea as the shipyard crew guides her step by step along the spur line, carefully rotates her on the turntable, and positions her onto the cradle until float off. It’s a unique look at shipyard operations here at Point Hope — never dull and never the same. The last 30 minutes of footage are sped up two times, otherwise the cradle lowering and rising would feel endless. As a bonus, you’ll also see the Coastal Sentinel, painted in the same colours as the G.M. Penman, cruising past as the cradle rises back up empty. I even ran nearly a kilometre to catch the Johnson Street Bridge lifting to allow her passage, and lowering again once clear. Thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel. I am grateful to film on the unceded territory of the Lekwungen people of the Esquimalt and Songhees First Nations. My channel brings you adventures every weekend—from planes, trains, automobiles, and ships to food reviews and tourist attractions—across Victoria, Vancouver, British Columbia, and beyond. As my horizons expand, so do the journeys I share with you. In the spirit of giving back, 10% of my YouTube AdSense revenue is donated to local charities, so by tuning in, you’re helping make a difference. Your support means the world to me. Don’t forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more incredible adventures from the harbour and beyond! Best, Corrie
