View our blog on Empire Levels at: http://wp.me/p5Qkne-TG Empire Level has been a large part of the construction industry for 95 years. Over that time, Empire level has innovated industry firsts such as the Monovial, the Torpedo Level, the Magnetic Level. Located in Mukwonago, Wisconsin, Empire employs approximately 200 people proudly making product in the USA. As with so many companies today, there are globally provided materials for production. When Empire released their new line of e55 levels, we were at the front of the line waiting for them in the stores. These levels are high quality and accurate to within .0005" per in. in all working positions. What makes them even more attractive is the pricing. The 48" model e55.48 is right around $25. The vials on the levels are not the normal yellow color, but a bright blue that allows them to be seem easier in multiple light situations. They are bright enough that we turned off the lights to see if they has a glow. They do not, but in most cases, they are more visible than the yellow. We did find a few cases, against a black background, that the yellow was easier to read, but overall, the blue was a great improvement. The vials are made of a high impact acrylic that Empire has tagged as an e-Band vials. This vial was made like this for visibility, accuracy and durability.
