Goat Farming Business Plan. How to Start a Business Goat Farm. Business Ideas for Home. Goat farming is a profitable and sustainable farming system if properly planned and maintained with proper training. The advantages of goat farming are high profits with low investment, the fact that it can be started on a small scale, and fast reproduction capacity. Goats give birth to multiple kids twice a year, and at the same time. Milk, meat, and skin are sold well in the market. Students, unemployed youth, or housewives can start a Goat rearing business as extra income in the courtyard of the house. Starting a goat farming business is relatively easy. Even beginners can maintain a small farm. First, a farm has to be built for goat farming. It would be better if the farm were on a high place. To keep it safe from wild animals or dogs, a fence should be built around the farm. Clean and ventilated houses should be built. The height of the loft should be 4 to 5 feet, and the height of the roof from the loft should be 6 to 8 feet. The gap of the scaffold should be 1 to 1.5 cm so that it does not fall between the legs. An adult goat needs 12 to 15 square feet of space. keep separate rooms for breeding bucks and pregnant and nursing does. In winter, curtains should be provided with burlap polythene as required in the goat house to protect it from extreme cold. Install all feeding and watering materials inside the house. You need to select a good breed of goat for farming, considering the climate and needs of your area. Goats are usually fed both greens, Grass, banana leaves, straw, wheat bran, granular food as needed, and clean water should always be provided. Female goats start coming into heat at 6 to 8 months. Goat breeders generally used to keep some bucks for breeding their does. And most of the Goat farmers prefer natural breeding instead of using an artificial breeding system. When the goat comes into heat, this condition lasts for 1 to 2 days, and breeding should be done during this time. Breeding should be done with lambs within 12 to 18 hours of coming into heat. After 5 months of breeding, the kid gives birth. 2 to 3 days before delivery, the breasts swell, and they dig the ground or walk around repeatedly. A clean place should be prepared, and it is good to be supervised during delivery. Immediately after birth, the nose and mouth should be cleaned so that it can breathe. After birth, the baby's navel should be wiped clean with tincture of iodine. The mother goat should be fed milk within the first 30 minutes, as it increases immunity. A separate, warm, and dry room should be kept for the babies. During cold or rainy weather, keep them warm using warm clothes, straw, or a light lamp. Do not keep them with other big goats, as there is a risk of being crushed underfoot. For the first 7 days, only the mother goat's milk should be given. If the mother's milk is not sufficient, artificial feeding should be taken. From 8 days to 2 months, milk should be given 3 times a day. After 2 months, gradually reduce the milk and get used to granular food. It can be used to completely solidify food in 3 months. Medicine should be applied as per the advice of a veterinarian. Regular vaccination and parasite control should be done. 📜 Use of Content under Fair Use This video is made for educational, commentary, and informational purposes only.
