Despite repeated requests, paddy has not been lifted from the mandi, forcing farmers to approach the Dhenkanal District Collector Office with their complaint. According to farmers, around 800 farmers had brought their paddy to the mandi. While paddy from about 300 farmers has been procured, the produce of nearly 500 farmers is still lying in the mandi without being lifted. Farmers allege that dates are being repeatedly postponed while procurement remains stalled. Frustrated by the delay, farmers have warned that if the issue is not resolved immediately, they will block highways and launch protests. Meanwhile, the Odisha Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department officials said millers have been instructed to lift the paddy soon. The incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by farmers during the paddy procurement season in Odisha.
