#asantehemaa @asantekingdom #associatedpress A section of queen mothers in the Asante Kingdom has called on the youth of the country to highly esteem the culture of their various ethnicities to redeem the lost image of reverence to God, leaders and self. The gracious queen mothers who spoke to Pent TV during the five-year anniversary of the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III during a colourful durbar ceremony at Manhyia expressed utmost concern on why the Asante Youth have abandoned the traditions of their ancestors are wallowing in the so-called civilization of the Whiteman. Speaking to Nana Yaa Asantewaa II, Queen-mother of Ejisu, she sharply rebuked the idea that chieftaincy’s association with idols means leadership is evil, citing instances in the Holy Bible to demonstrate how God delights in the traditional governance. She told that the dynamism of chieftaincy in today’s world gives it more room for stakeholders to be educated on how to rule and be equipped with the modern approach of dealing with subjects to promote national development. The Ejisuhemaa cautioned the youth to be awakened from their nightmares of affronting elders and be decent in their ways to inspire success in the days ahead of them. Nana Acheampomaa Nkansah Yiadom II, Agona Manhemaa frowned at Ghanaians over-comprehension of claims surrounding chieftaincy and its related taboos. She told that such occasions are made to reveal openly the colorful tradition of Asanteman to enlighten civilians on the need to sustain and make headway to keep attitude and characters in shape. Other queen mothers expressed delight in the occasion and desired long life for the Queen-mother, Nana Konadu Yiadom III and the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
