Crows Nest Station

Opened to the public in August 2024, Crows Nest Station is a new addition to Sydney’s expanding metro network. Located in a dense inner-urban setting, the station was designed to meet long-term transport needs while integrating with the character of the local precinct. SMEC was appointed as lead consultant of the Crows Nest Design Consortium and worked closely with Sydney Metro, contractors and partners across design and construction. From designing around future over station development to managing community interface and minimising disruption in a constrained environment, the team brought together expertise in architecture, structural engineering, systems design and sustainability to deliver a fully integrated underground station. One year on, the station continues to serve as a vital connection point for the community, supporting a more accessible, efficient and sustainable transport network for Greater Sydney.
