I’ve been asked a few times recently how our Community Allotment actually works — so here’s a proper walk-through. Yes, we have space. Yes, you can join. And no, you don’t need to be an expert gardener. In this video I explain: • What’s growing right now (garlic, chard, kale and more to come) • How the polytunnels and orchard fit into membership • What you actually get for £36 per year • Whether you need experience (you don’t) • Whether you need to be super fit (you don’t) • And why this model is different from having your own traditional allotment Most allotments come with long waiting lists and a heavy commitment. Miss a few weeks in summer and the weeds will happily take over. Our community model is different. If you’re away, someone else keeps things going. If you’re new, we teach you from scratch. If you can only manage light tasks, that’s fine too. It’s not just about vegetables. It’s about being outside. Moving your body. Learning skills. Meeting people. And sharing the load instead of carrying it alone. If you’ve been wondering whether it might be for you — this should answer most of your questions.
