Educator-Author John Rucynski talks about his latest writing project - a new type of English textbook for ESL students in Japan. This book and interview set is unique as it highlights the diverse stories of international entrepreneurs working in Japan as the content for learning English. The interviews and listening activities also highlight the variations and accents of spoken English to students. This is needed in ESL in Japan to introduce students to diverse accents to improve their comprehension, but also raises awareness in education to dispel stereotypes and misperceptions of international workers in Japan. Their unique stories will also inspire future entrepreneurs that there is more than 'one way' to work successfully in Japan. Looking forward to talking with John about the different people featured in the book and the philosophy of this textbook. The book was written with Phoebe Amoroso published by National Geographic learning called WORKING IN JAPAN. John Rucynski Links 2025 TedxTalk Okayama • The Secret to Feeling at Home in Japan | J...
