Rouen Cathedral dons its light every summer! Viking A thick mist envelops the Seine. A shadow appears. Driven by an irresistible wind, it advances inexorably. A dragon's head emerges into the light... This show evokes the Scandinavian invasions of Normandy in the 9th century , from 841, the date of the first Viking incursion into the Seine Valley (the burning of Rouen and the sack of Jumièges), to 911, the year of the Treaty of Saint-Clair-sur-Epte between Rollo and Charles the Simple. The Northmen have found the way to a new world. Combining historical facts, magical images, and spectacular effects, this monumental projection offers a unique and striking encounter with the men from the north. It also revisits the various representations, imaginary or mythologized, that we have of them.   Optic Gothic This show created by Antoine + Manuel, screened during the closing night of the Normandy Impressionist Festival in 2024, invites you to shake your hips in front of a Cathedral more disco than ever. Inspired by impressionism, pointillism and pop art, this mesmerizing show takes you on a feast of the senses, in color and music.
