How to make a Stained Glass Frame

Framing stained glass is always a challenge I enjoy so I was happy to receive a commission to clean and frame an historic stained glass panel for Fr. Jeff Windy of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bloomington, Illinois. Dirt from decades of storage had to be carefully removed with a low pH soap so as not to damage any of the detail that gives this panel its unique characteristics. Then the frame was constructed from reclaimed wood from an antique piano cabinet. The result is a stable and protective frame that can be deconstructed if the panel needs to be removed in the future.
