Hello & Welcome to Harnetty Railways In this video we have our 1st Heritage Railway visit of the 2025 season a weekend visit to our friends at The Severn Valley Railway for their Winter Steam Gala. Last season's during their 1st winter steam The SVR Tribal Chief Phil Swallow's 21C127 Taw Valley & The Ivatt Group's 43106 made the headlines during their final runs before their recent boiler tickets expired. Fast forward 12 months & Push Pull LTD's 14xx 1450 made the headlines following completion of her recent overhaul orthough in undercoat green with her BR guise. The winter gala was a home fleet event just like last season which proved to be very popular with enthusiasts. The fleet operating were The flagship loco of the railway 4930 Hagley Hall, The Erlestoke Manor Fund's 7812 Erlestoke Manor, The 75069 Fund's 75069, The SVR Pannier Tank Fund's 7714 & The Stanier Mogul fund's 13268. The Saturday we focused some of the day time services from the lineside as Saturday was the best day in weather terms at the crossing north of Highley & Orchard Crossing south of Northwood Halt. Sunday was a day travelling behind 7812 Erlestoke Manor as thw weather was not at it's best after a snow storm on Saturday night & rain during the Sunday afternoon. This was significant as I was making most of 7812 Erlestoke Manor before he heads off from the spring of 2025 on a 3 year contract to be based on The West Somerset Railway with his older brother fellow Erlestoke Manor Fund's 7802 Bradley Manor not far away from completion of his overhaul at Tyseley. So it was a decided to ride behind Erlestoke all day Sunday. Our highlights of the gala weekend was 4930 Hagley Hall paired with The GWR Stock all weekend recapturing the golden age of steam of the western region from the 1920's & 1930's. Also the highlight during the weekend was the fine fettle performances of 7812 Erlestoke Manor especially on the Sunday with the icing on the cake having The Torbay Express headboard on. A big thank you to all the unsung heroes of The Severn Valley Railway for pulling out all the stops in making this event possible & putting the enthusiasts at the heart of the decision making. Thanks for the company during the weekend of @blackcountrysteamvideos8021, @crunchynutsteamfilms5043, @WestCountrySteamVideos & @BrickishRail, @JakeBSteam & much more. This is the 2nd video as promised dedicated in Britt Alcroft's memory the woman who brought Thomas The Tank Engine & his friends to the TV screens from the 1980's. With 2 of the characters Duck based on 7714 & Oliver based on 1450 it was fitting to start the video with the tank engines. R.I.P Britt Alcroft. Thanks for reading enjoy the film. P.S We apologise for the error of the dates as the Saturday was the 4th & Sunday was the 5th of January. #severnvalleyrailway #wintersteamgala #rail200
