Plenty of hard enduro action at the Ironstone Extreme run by Grassroots Enduro Australia! The Australian Hard Enduro Championship continues with Ironstone Extreme. Riders came from all over Australia to challenge themselves in this gruelling race. Rocks. Creekbeds. Rutted climbs. And constant climbs and descents at Mt Morgan in Queensland. Into enduro riding? Extreme enduro is really starting to take off in Australia. Both rider and motorbike were put to the test during this all natural terrain hard enduro event. It was great to see riders of all skill levels having a go at the Ironstone Extreme. There are plenty of women riding these events now and some very skilled riders emerging. The Grassroots Enduro Australia organisers ensured that bronze class had a lot of tough sections. But even the Ironstone Extreme flowing tracks had plenty of rocks to keep riders on their toes. A big issue for many riders was arm pump from gripping the bars too tightly due to all the rocks. How good do you need to be for bronze class? Hopefully this Ironstone Extreme video will give you an idea. You want at least intermediate skills, and a basic grasp of techniques like hill climbs, how to dismount instead of crashing, how to get traction when you are stuck, and how to pace yourself. And of course physical fitness is critical. Get into our training vids. A few basic skills will see you handling bronze class quite easily, then you can always look at trying silver.
