This is my rant on what I though would become my daily CCW, the Smith & Wesson M&P 9c. The trigger on this weapon breaks better than the Glock (spongy) but the reset on the Glock is 2nd to none. With time and practice anyone can master any decent trigger. The thing I just couldn't accept from this firearm was the takedown lever issue. Apparently Smith has told complaining owners that the lever was designed to have the need of two hands to operate it. In other words, the way the weapon comes out of the box is not the way the takedown lever should operate. It's okay for it to work one way out of the box and another after it's been used for a while. I found a homegrown fix on one of the forums and it half-worked. It worked on the disassembly but wouldn't on the reassembly, constantly getting jammed, needing pulling and tugging to get the lever to lose itself from the slide. When Smith & Wesson comes out with a real fix for this issue, I'll be the first in line to buy one. But for now I'll stick to the Glock 27 until something better shows up.
