LINKS: ~ View All Online Courses: https://www.thelandscapelibrary.academy -- Have you ever experienced starting a landscape design project with no information about the site? One of the most powerful features of Google Earth is its ability to help landscape designers create a better plan from satellite imagery. With this tool, they can see what their client will be doing before they start. They can even see the progress of their work in real time and compare it with the actual site. A professional will be able to create a better plan to make their client's space more beautiful. It will make the entire process of designing a landscape much easier. If you're unfamiliar with Google Earth, the computer program enables you to view a 3D representation of the entire planet. It does this by superimposing satellite, aerial photography, and GIS data to create a map of our planet. You can use Google Earth to explore the world from many different angles and learn more about its natural wonders. For those interested in geography, it is particularly useful for exploring different parts of the world, including cities. Unlike traditional maps, the images in Google Earth are so detailed that they show the individual details of houses, yards, and even cars parked on the street. The software also includes a digital elevation model, which allows you to see landscapes in a virtual 3D environment. You can also view cities from 1984 to view how they may have looked then. The program requires a small amount of space on your computer and loads the images on demand. Google Earth is available for both Windows and Mac computers, and users can use it for personal and business purposes. The software is free and is compatible with several operating systems. A good feature of this product is the ability to add layers of data. This technology makes it possible to create and share information about various locations in the world. The software is free of charge, but it has some disadvantages. The only problem with using this software is the sensitivity of its data. The data it displays is not always updated, and some areas can be very difficult to interpret. If you need more information about a certain place, it is always best to visit the project site. To print images from Google Earth, click the "print" icon and choose "print." Then, select the "print" button next to the option that says "create PDF". If you have an Adobe PDF printer, you can choose between two types of printers: Microsoft and Adobe. These will both give you a PDF file with the same file size, but they differ in PPI. The difference between the two formats is quite small. If you are printing a PDF file on a PC, you should choose the Adobe PDF printer. To save images from Google Earth, click the “Save Image” icon located on the top toolbar. It is best practice to turn off terrain and buildings as it will “flatten” the map for more accurate information. In some cases, turning off buildings can remove shadows from the satellite imagery and you can see extra details. The most important information to keep on the image is “Scale” and “North Arrow”. This allows you to use the SCALE command in AutoCAD and scale the Google Earth Image up to its actual size - where you can then begin to extract information. 00:00 - Introduction to How to Export Google Earth Image 00:32 - Search for an Address 00:45 - Hold CNTRL + Left Mouse to Look Around 00:56 - 3D Buildings and Terrain 01:35 - Toolbar in Google Earth 01:53 - How to Export as JPEG Social Media Pages: Instagram - / thelandscapelibrary Pinterest - / _saved Facebook - / thelandscapelibraryofficial SUBSCRIBE to our channel for more videos!
