This is not my first attempt at making a video. It is my first attempt at a music lyric video. So, please be gentle. Theocracy has got to be, if not one of my favorite music artists right now, my absolute favorite artist at the moment. Matt Smith is just pure God-given genius. To not be too sycophantic, if J.S. Bach were alive today, if not attempting what Theocracy is doing, he would be marveling at them. I have chosen LTDTR, not just because it is one of my favorite songs, but because it can always stand another fan video. Smith should seriously consider doing a professional video of this song. I'm curious what a professional producer would come up with. For myself, I actually was studying this craft in a different life. To not too much give my age away, this was when MTV was real music and video. It was before most people had (or could afford) personal computers. This was all done on free tools. I'm really, really broke at the moment. I used one tool to compose it, that going beyond the free edition, it only allowed up to 5 minutes to publish to YT. The freaking song is nearly 10 minutes! I used another to capture the previewed video from the composer. That explains the choppiness. In preview mode, it is not fully rendered in the best resolution. Then the capture tool is limited on the resolution as well. Take this as a "work in progress." Definitely my first take. Publishing for myself and friends, and general reaction. It will take better tools to smooth things out. This is unedited video. Raw video capture. There are only so many hours in a day. Did all of this over a weekend. I do have a day job. I would not recommend blowing this up to full screen. Resolution will definitely suffer. The capture target was only 500 X 300 (on a 1920 X 1080 display) The text will be extra fuzzy. Count that a bonus "ghost effect" if you persist. I must give due credit to Theocracy, Ulterium Records, Dan Drescher (director for "Hide in the Fairytale." I used some of your footage.) And Peter Jackson and New Line Cinema for the LOTR footage. What I chose fit so well with the song, it was a bit creepy, how I did little to no editing to sync it. To all of you, please don't sue me. I'm really, really broke right now. May as well send me to a FEMA camp, than think you will get any bones out of me. I'm one those 100+ million "discouraged workers" that the BLS don't dare tell you about. To the rest, I hope you enjoy this as much I did making it, despite the amateur results thus far. I hope to smooth this out in future takes, and that -- final cut. Lyrics: As I sit alone and tired, with time to spare Temptation rears its ugly head Born from a deceptive dream into a nightmare It calls to me again Testing me to see if I will break this time Or at least how far I'll bend I can see its glowing eyes and hear its evil cries "Come dance with me, my friend..." So, the things that I want to do I find myself not doing but the things that I don't want to do I fall into - Why? Why do we struggle with the former things and live in our own power below our means? War Don't you understand this is war? War with the principalities and powers Things unseen that would devour us all The spirit battles the flesh And now my wounds are deep and torn wide open I'm tired and weary, hurt and broken down Lead us not Into temptation But deliver us From the evil one Darkness falls On my spirit again Again temptation calls I can hear it [Chorus] As the battle rages on and on I face the things that put my faith to the test When fallen angels won't leave me alone Father, come and lay the demon to rest When my sword has broken off in my hand I see the dark futility of the flesh When I'm about to fall, please help me stand Father, come and lay the demon to rest [Instrumental break] They're on my back I run, but I can feel their talons digging in my flesh Blood trickles down upon the earth And I grow weaker with each breath Each time I shake one off another wraps its teeth around my neck And every time, the one, the thorn is there To tear me down again The angels counterstrike Their flaming swords slice through the fallen ones The demons reunite, attack again The cycle has begun Caught in the middle of this present darkness with nowhere to run We're in a holy war As it is written, so shall it be done Where there's a will, there's a way, they say But sometimes my will seems to get in the way So You will have to fight for me today You will have to fight for me today You will have to fight ... for me today [Repeat Chorus] to rest to rest to rest
