#wildcampinguk #wildcamping #peakdistrict After my birthday this week, I had a few new toys to try out on a Kinder Scout Wild Camp. Shane and I climbed Jacobs Ladder and onto Swines Back, where we encountered some absolutely brutal winds that took the wind chill factor right down to just above freezing. I managed to set up a tarp, which provided a surprising amount of shelter. This week I had the ingredients to cook Spaghetti Bolognese, and had made a new alcohol stove that gave me a longer burn time so I could boil the spaghetti and cook the sauce properly. It was delicious! I had been given a merino wool blanket for my birthday so I thought Id put it to the test and use it instead of a sleeping bag. It worked really well and I had a good nights sleep, despite the 40mph wind and torrential downpours. In the morning, I mixed up some pancake mix and cooked some bacon to have pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. Bangin food that was delicious!
