'India's UPI will come to Malaysia soon,' announced Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the Indian diaspora in Malaysia during his first foreign visit of 2026. Highlighting the deepening digital collaboration between the two nations, the Prime Minister noted that the India-Malaysia Digital Council is paving new pathways for technological partnership. He emphasized that India has built the world's largest digital public infrastructure and fintech ecosystem, accounting for nearly half of the world's real-time digital transactions. Prime Minister Modi underscored the transformation of the Indian economy over the last decade, stating that India is now the world's second-largest mobile manufacturer and the third-largest startup hub. He remarked that 'trust has become India's strongest currency,' making the nation a reliable partner for global trade and investment. The Prime Minister also highlighted India's green energy transition, noting a 40-fold growth in solar energy capacity over the past ten years. He reaffirmed India's ambition to become a developed nation, or 'Viksit Bharat,' by 2047, with the 1.4 billion population working towards this goal. Addressing the cultural and historical ties, the Prime Minister thanked the Malaysian Indian community for their sacrifices during the freedom struggle and their contributions to the Indian National Army. He announced the establishment of a new Thiruvalluvar Centre and a dedicated scholarship for students to study in India. Furthermore, he confirmed a historic decision to extend OCI card eligibility to Malaysian citizens of Indian origin up to the sixth generation. To further facilitate bilateral engagement, the Prime Minister announced that India will soon open a new consulate in Malaysia. He concluded by inviting the diaspora and their Malaysian friends to experience 'Incredible India,' citing the massive expansion in airports, highways, and modern rail connectivity like the Vande Bharat trains. #PMModi #IndiaMalaysia #UPI #DigitalIndia #ViksitBharat #IndianDiaspora #AnwarIbrahim #Fintech #IndianEconomy #MakeInIndia #TamilCulture #Thiruvalluvar #Netaji #GlobalTrade #VandeBharat #GreenEnergy #StrategicPartnership #KualaLumpur #IndiaGrowth #CNBCTV18 🔴CNBC TV18 LIVE TV: https://youtube.com/live/P857H4ej-MQ SUBSCRIBE to our Channel: https://bit.ly/3nvEcxf --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 👑 Check Out Top CNBC TV18 Playlist Videos: 🔹 • Young Turks Reloaded with Shereen Bhan 🔹 • CNBC TV18 Prime | Global Lens 🔹 • World News 2025 | Latest International News 🔹 • CNBC-TV18 Classics 🔹 • OVERDRIVE || CNBC TV18 🔹 • Startup Street ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You can also connect with CNBC-TV18 News Online Catch the latest news: https://bit.ly/2YbpXBM Follow CNBC-TV18 round the clock: https://www.cnbctv18.com/live-tv/ Stay updated with all the market action in real time: https://www.cnbctv18.com/market-live/ You can also stay updated with all the latest news on-the-go with CNBC-TV18 Minis: https://www.cnbctv18.com/minis/ Like us on Facebook: / cnbctv18india Follow us on Twitter: / cnbctv18news Follow us on Instagram: / cnbctv18india Catch us on: Linkedin: / cnbc-tv18 n18oc_business About CNBC-TV18: India's leading business news channel, CNBC-TV18 offers the most comprehensive coverage of businesses, the economy and the financial markets.
