Master musician Jacques Gauthe plays soprano sax on an original blues - backed by the San Francisco Feetwarmers jazz band. Deep Indigo Blues is a composition by Jacques, a simple twelve bar blues - lyrical, full of yearning and hope, this tune makes a definitive statement: "this is how the blues should be played." Jacques performed with the Feetwarmers at the Sonoma County Dixie Jazz Festival (2000), at which the band played a standing room only tribute to jazz legend Sidney Bechet - Jacques teacher and mentor. Right after the festival the band headed for Bay Records studio; Deep Indigo Blues is just one of 16 superb tracks from that recording session. Happy music played with lots of love.
