In this presentation, Professor Gary L. Francione discussed the six principles of the Abolitionist theory he has pioneered. Gary L. Francione is Board of Governors Professor of Law at Rutgers University School of Law. He is also Visiting Professor of Philosophy at the University of Lincoln, UK, and Honorary Professor of Philosophy at the University of East Anglia, UK. Professor Francione is the author of numerous books and articles on animal rights theory. He has developed the Abolitionist theory of animal rights and maintains that veganism is a moral imperative. This event was organized by the Institute of Animal Law of Asia, under the project “Enhancing Legal Regulations for Aquatic Animals in Kazakhstan.” The event was supported and sponsored by the Center for Animal Law Studies, Lewis & Clark Law School.
