We stayed at Steve's cousin's place in Pune for 2 weeks. Which was absolutely GREAT as Steve was pretty sick and needed some rest. Too many street food samosas. So, first things first, thank you very much to Julia and Sandip for letting us lay on your couch all day!! We needed it. Julia had the great idea to try a bunch of different mangoes and rate them all, seeing as it is mango season. So we got our hands on a total of 8 different mangoes and had a feast! Here's Steve's scorecard: 1st -- Mini Alphonso -- 10/10 Hands down the best mango we tried. Unbelievably delicious. 2nd -- Pairi -- 9.5/10 The surprise of the group! Great contrast of outside green colour to inside dark orange. Inside the skin there is a completely different taste. Really great. 3rd -- Alphonso Ratnagiri (farmer's market) -- 9/10 Delicious, juicy, fantastic. Although not quite as flavourful as the mini alphonso 4th -- Kesar -- 8.5/10 It's like a combination of the alphonso and the pairi. Lacks a little of the flavour and juicyness. Still very yummy. 5th -- Alphonso Ratnagiri (grocery store) -- 8/10 Clearly not as good as the farmer's market alphonso. This could be because a bunch of foreigners chose the ones from the grocery store, whereas Sandip chose the ones from the farmer's market. This alphonso was more stringy and less sweet than the farmer's market one. 6th -- Badami -- 8/10 Quite different from the others. Not as strong as a flavour, but still distinct and yummy. Tasted a little like watered down mango juice. 7th -- Alphonso Dev -- 7/10 Tasted very earthy. A little stringy and altogether it just felt like it was trying to impersonate the alphonso ratnagiri. 8th -- Totapuri -- 6/10 It feels like this is a 'starter mango'. Nothing too overwhelming about it. Still more delicious than most fruits. Thanks for watching!! ▶︎SUBSCRIBE!
