When talking about the sadness of Ride the Cyclone, we tend to talk about the gut-wrenching Ballad of Jane Doe, the birthday scene, or the ending, but what about the opening number (or, at least, the variant that is in the most widespread/accepted proshot of the show)? In this mini video essay, we will take a look at the quiet sadness of The Fall Fair Suite. This video was my submission for The Essay Library Anthology Vol. 8, which had the prompt of "Seasons" and a 55-65 second time limit. The full compilation can be found here: • 27 Video Essays About Seasons NOTE: When I call the song "basic and forgettable", I just mean the part that they diagetically ACTUALLY sang at the Fall Fair, which was intended to be basic and forgettable. The rest of the song is brilliant, as is the musical on the whole. ~~~ If you like hearing me yap, consider following my main channel.
