Source: @user4606006116859 on TT The ACE questionnaire assigns a score between 0 and 10, based on the number of different adverse experiences reported before age 18 (such as abuse, neglect, or household dysfunction). While the score itself is simply a count, researchers and clinicians often group scores into categories to help interpret the level of risk: No Trauma / Low ACEs (Score: 0) Individuals report no adverse childhood experiences. This group is generally considered at lowest risk for trauma-related health and social difficulties. Mild Trauma (Score: 1–3) A small number of adverse experiences are reported. Many people in this range may show resilience and experience relatively few long-term effects, though some may still be impacted depending on the severity of the events and protective factors. Moderate Trauma (Score: 4–6) Multiple ACEs are reported, and research shows a clear increase in the likelihood of both physical and mental health issues. Individuals in this group may face higher risks of depression, substance use, and chronic illnesses. Severe / Very High Trauma (Score: 7–10) A high number of adverse experiences are reported. This group is considered at greatest risk for significant health, emotional, and social difficulties, including higher likelihood of complex trauma symptoms, serious health problems, and challenges in relationships and functioning. #MentalHealth #brain #trauma
