Japan is a very polite country and generally people are well spoke and well mannered But as an American who speaks Japanese and understands Japanese culture, it is always a bit surprising to hear cute little Japanese kids use foul language and rarely face any real punishment for it. In America, things were quite different when I was a kid. If you said dirty words, you were bound to face a belt, wooden spoon and possibly a bar of soap to wash your mouth out with!! LOL not anymore nowadays but this type of discipline and punishment was the norm when I was a kid... I think many Japanese will be surprised to hear how strict parents are (were?) to children with dirty mouths!!
