In this video I get to ride and test the ultra rare SUR RON Storm Bee R! This is the 2022 Sur Ron Storm Bee R, which is fully street legal. This bike has a 22.5 kW electric motor paired to a 90V/48Ah battery, with a top speed of 110km/h (68mph). Weighing in at 300 lbs this motorcycle certainly needs all the power it can get. Overall the Sur Ron Storm Bee was a ton of fun to ride! The build quality and geometry of the bike have exceeded my expectations set by the current e-bike market. Most e-bikes feel like they are made of paper and will break on the first bump, but the Storm Bee feels solid and reliable. This bike feels like a proper dirt bike. It doesn't feel like a dinosaur or a camel, or a mountain bike on steroids. Yes when you activate Turbo Mode and go wide open on the street, the power draw greatly affects your battery. BUT, when riding in the woods, ripping some trails in Sport Mode, the range is sufficient. I was able to ride for 40 mins, including going on the street and riding 2kms (1.25miles) at wide open throttle and only use up 36% of my battery. I started the test off with 96% battery charge, and after all was said and done I had 60% battery remaining. My top speed in the woods was 65 km/h (42 mph). The bike wanted to continue to accelerate, but I ran out of braking distance and traction to be able to go any faster.
