No-Commentary playthrough of "Casing the Joint" (T2Fix 1.27) Expert Difficulty "Opportunity plus instinct equals profit" R.o.A. #9 We breezed through this mission in spite of the restriction against knockouts. The real trick is getting all the guards' purses - it's not that hard, but some of them are on fairly long patrol routes, so it can be a bit tricky to locate that one purse you missed without knocking anyone out or just camping in a hallway and waiting for it to wander past you. The Library is pretty creepy, sorry about that. For dramatic effect, we deliberately startled the ghost at a time when we could easily destroy it by reading the last book. It's a haunting place, that library, but it's mostly just... loud. Much of the loot in this mission consists of stray coins throughout the mansion, and it is very satisfying to note that all the loot is placed a way that makes sense of the fact that none of it can appear in the next mission. There are even coin stacks in the crate in Servants' Quarters, which implies an explanation for what happened to all the stray coins. Those coin stacks are actually different between to two missions - both in color and value. One assumes it was not technically feasible to have persistent loot across this mission and the next, so that some items, if missed, would be available for stealing in the next mission. In the absence of this obvious solution, the loot placement follows a subtle logic that helps greatly with narrative immersion. Please note that the in-game subtitles do include somewhat frequent transcription errors, and should be read with caution. Full disclosure: This is an edited compilation that includes quite a few quick-saves and quick-loads. The editing is meant to be relatively seamless, but not intended to be deceptive. We make no secret of the fact that many, many, many quick-loads were used in the making of this video. The gamma (brightness) is set quite high so that you, the viewer, are better able to view the game. One small wrinkle: by default the game has keyboard shortcuts for raising and lowering the gamma setting. These were not disabled, and we did bump the keys a few times during gameplay, so you may occasionally notice a slight variation in the gamma setting throughout the video. We regret the oversight.
