In this video we dive into the unknown with my 1979 XL185s that I picked up a while ago. With such low miles and only a few parts missing I figured this could be an easy transformation into a beat around bike for years to come. Unfortunately, this motor is LOCKED up tight. Before I pull the motor out to start a fresh rebuild for this bike, Unlocking the crank and piston is the first step. This will hopefully make the tear down much easier for us in the future.
