We spent 3 amazing days trekking to Palomani Pass at the mountain of Ausangate (which stands at over 20K feet), staying in remote mountain huts with Andean Lodges. It was challenging, but provided some of the most incredible views we witnessed in Peru. We had some crazy weather, saw hundreds of alpacas, met the indigenous Quechua people who call this valley home, and marveled at the beauty of the Andes.
