Zheng Liwen defeated competitors including Luo Zhiqiang and Hau Lung-bin with 65,122 votes, representing 50.15%, to become the new party chairperson. In her victory speech, Zheng Liwen thanked all party members and emphasized that the KMT will uphold three principles going forward: never allow Taiwan to become a troublemaker, never allow Taiwan to become a geopolitical victim, and actively play the role of a regional peacemaker. She also called for unity within the party and for external relations to be conducted based on the principles of equality, respect, and reciprocity.
