Feel free to use them as a guide for your own Istrian exploration! Here’s a summary of the key stops and experiences on this Istrian bike/walk tour, featuring unforgettable locations: • Hum (Colmo) – Welcome to the smallest town in the world! This medieval village, built of grey stone and surrounded by beautiful nature, offers a profound sense of time standing still. Its peaceful atmosphere and historical charm are truly captivating. • Cape Kamenjak (Premantura cape) – Raw, wild, and unmissable, this natural paradise is perfect for nature lovers. Explore Njive beach, relax at the unique Safari Bar with its plant-made "walls" and "roof," and swim in the largest bay on the west side of the peninsula, known for its calm and crystal-clear waters. • Rovinj (Rovigno) – Like a living painting, this picturesque port town is pure coastal poetry. Wander through lovely alleys, admire charming buildings, and visit the beautiful church perched on a small, round-island-like peninsula. The Lion of Venice, a symbol of its rich history, adorns doors and buildings throughout the town. • Dvigrad (Duecastelli) & Bale (Valle) – Explore the evocative ruins of Dvigrad, a fortified town abandoned in the 17th century after wars, sieges, and epidemics. Nearby, discover the quiet, genuine, and unexpected village of Bale, with its white stone alleys and peaceful vibe. You can also visit the nearby Morosini-Grimani Castle. • Piedmont of Istria (Piemonte d’Istria) – A small, slightly decadent, but beautifully charming village. Its unique character makes it a worthwhile stop. • Motovun (Montona) – Reach this picturesque hilltop town by riding along the Parenzana bike path. Motovun offers breathtaking views and historical charm, starting from its impressive medieval walls. • Učka Nature Park (Monte Maggiore Natural Park) – Explore the wild soul of Istria. This true hidden gem boasts gentle slopes and panoramic viewpoints embracing the entire coastline. Cycle through dense vegetation and enjoy spectacular views all the way to the sea. • Pula (Pola) – The Roman amphitheater in Pula is breathtaking! But there’s more to discover, including charming streets, ancient temples, grand arches, and historic castles. • Labin (Albona) & Rabac (Portalbona): Labin is a medieval gem with stunning views and art galleries, while Rabac is a former fishing village with charming bays. Don't miss a swim at the beautiful Prižinja beach! • Funtana (Fontana) & Poreč (Parenzo): The coastal bike path to Poreč is truly beautiful, offering views of pine woods, crystal-clear water, and waves crashing on rocks. Poreč itself is a fantastic place to visit, with its cobbled main street, the Euphrasian Basilica, the Romanesque House, the Temple of Neptune, and lovely squares like Marafor Square. • Grožnjan (Grisignana) & Buje (Buie): Grožnjan is a charming and quiet village, full of artisan shops, where walking its alleys is a unique experience. Following the Parenzana by bike, you'll reach Buje, which, while less beautiful than Grožnjan, offers a charming main square, a tower with a lovely museum, and a great view.
