This video examines government under Henry VII addressing the key question In what ways and how effectively was England governed during this period? Henry VII created a personal monarchy and was very much a hands on ruler. He had some key advisers such as Morton and Bray. Some of his attempts to increase Royal finances such as his infamous 'Council Learned in the Law' were effective if controversial. Henry VII had mixed success in controlling the provinces and established some effective local government and justice under JPs. This key question is one of 6 from AQA Unit 7042/1C and this unit addresses the bullet point: 'Government: councils, parliament, justice, royal finance, domestic policies' from the specification.
