It was started with a purpose of raising awareness via short films in Maithili language. "Aamak Kalm" is a #maithili #shortfilm that revolves around life in aamak kalam during the mango season - from the morning parati(morning song) to night stay at khopri. Along with the story we also tried to highlight the obsession of youth with government jobs and the overall unemployment issue in mithila region. We believe #mithila has immense potential because of the young population but it can only be fruitful if the young move away from the lure(corruption), comfort and job security of govt jobs to follow their dreams, take risks and venture into the world of entrepreneurship. We also tried to show up the issue of discrimination with girl children - from education to career, and the dowry system present here. We believe equal education and career opportunity for girls is only the long term solution to end the #dowry system. Being financially independent will empower the women to say no to unreasonable demands, and stand up for her basic rights and dignity.
