Potato Flake Sourdough Recipe: Ingredients: 1/4 CUP sugar 2 TSP coarse salt 1/2 CUP vegetable oil, Kalen only uses Wesson oil 1-2 CUP water 6 CUP bread flour 1 CUP starter Directions: Add sugar, salt, vegetable oil, and 1.5 cups of warm water to a large bowl and mix well Add 6 cups of bread flour, it will be thick and sticky Add 1 cup of starter (after adding starter put it back in the fridge for 3-5 days to either feed or make more bread) Mix together and add a 1/2 cup more of warm water so it is extremely wet and sticky Put oil on the sides and top of your dough using a basting brush Put a kitchen towel overtop and place your bowl in a warm place overnight (I usually put my bowl in the oven) The next morning shape into two loaves and place in greased loaf pans (dough will still be very wet and sticky) Let rise in a warm place until it is bubbly and risen to the very top of the loaf pan (between noon-4pm) Preheat the oven to 350 and bake for 30 minutes Brush with butter and enjoy!
