Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Is Underwhelming, Hypocritical, And A Wasted Opportunity

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster has been out for a little over a month, and I gotta say... I'm not impressed. Many channels, including long-time Dead Rising fans, are saying THIS is how you remake a game. I'm wondering if this is how low the bar has been lowered. From a worse graphical style to asinine censorship to a lack of using modern-day tech to enhance the original, DRDR can feel like a really pointless remake on the surface. Combine that with a maxed bag of welcome adjustments and frustrating mistakes/glitches that STILL haven't been patched, and you have a game that is at best a sidegrade to the original while costing a full 60 dollars. Very few of the improvements from the sequels, like Elemental damage, extra weapons, or more interactivity on the map will leave long-time players with little new stuff to find or do, and the changes to difficulty make it feel like new players were the only main concern from a design standpoint.
