Finding missing people would be easier with a license plate system that uses universally recognized symbols, such as a star, heart, or circle to make it easier to report license plates to law enforcement rapidly. Even young children can recognize, remember, and report symbols without requiring the ability to read. This is the invention and mission of my good friend Gary Richard, who has pioneered this important effort to provide an improved system for motor vehicle identification. Why is this important? Child trafficking, abductions and other heinous crimes against our most vulnerable in our society inevitably utilize automobiles and the transportation of these victims. The ability to positively identify vehicles rapidly, even in tense stressful circumstances, is critical when every moment counts and a child's life could potentially be on the line.
