This week, Pastor Garmon challenged us with a powerful question: How long will you delay what God has already made available to you? He began by reminding us that God is a very present help in times of trouble—but we qualify for that help through humility. It is often in our weakest moments that we experience God’s greatest strength. Our trials are not punishments; they are opportunities for God to reveal His power, provision, and protection. Shifting to Joshua 18, Pastor highlighted that although the Promised Land had already been conquered, seven tribes had still not possessed their inheritance. The battle was won—but they had not stepped into what God had prepared. The issue was not ability. It was complacency. God had cleared the way. The obstacles were removed. Yet they hesitated. Pastor asked us the same question Joshua asked Israel: How long will you neglect to possess what God has given you? He taught that many believers defeat certain battles (habits, struggles, past sins) but never move forward into purpose. Salvation is not the finish line—it’s the starting line. We must not confuse contentment with complacency. Gratitude is godly, but hunger for more of God is necessary. Momentum is everything. Once you defeat the enemy, you must continue advancing or risk losing ground. To keep momentum, Pastor gave practical instruction: Keep the right focus. Focus on what you can do and control. Focus on your calling. Celebrate small victories. He closed with encouragement for every generation—especially those who feel they are in their “fourth quarter” of life. In Joshua 13:1, God told an aging Joshua: “You are old… and there remains very much land yet to be possessed.” No matter your age or stage, God is not finished with you. There is still land to conquer. There is still purpose to fulfill. The question remains: How long will you wait?
