La Strada dell'Assietta si snoda lungo il crinale, offrendo una vista spettacolare, motivo per cui è chiamata anche "strada dei cinque colli : Colle Lauson - Colle Bleiger - Colle Costa Piana - Colle Bourget e Colle Basset , tutti sopra i 2000 m di altitudine , il percorso offre panorami mozzafiato sulle valli e i rilievi circostanti, ma è soggetta a restrizioni di traffico, specialmente nei mesi estivi. Il percorso è di origine ex militare ed è un luogo suggestivo per scoprire la storia delle Alpi. La circolazione veicolare può essere limitata o vietata in alcuni giorni e orari, specialmente tra Luglio e Agosto, per tutelare l'ambiente e garantire la sicurezza. Raggiunto il Colle Basset (2424 m) iniziamo la discesa su Sestriere. Preparatevi a diventare bianchi dalla polvere.
