When I moved from the US to Sweden, I didn’t expect a grocery store to change how I think about culture, health, and consumer habits. In this video, I visit what i I’ve been told is an ‘American-style’ grocery store in Sweden, a place with more than just food: decor, kitchen supplies, clothes, and heaps of options. At first, it looks familiar. But walking through it made me realize how deeply our nervous systems and buying behaviors are shaped by culture. In the US, shopping often means stimulation, impulse, and overwhelm. In Sweden, even in a big store, the focus feels more practical, nourishing, and calm. From fresh baked bread and walls of yogurt, to fish spreads I’d never seen in America, the differences aren’t just about products, they’re about trust, quality, and how safe our bodies feel while choosing what to eat. As a herbalist and cook living in Sweden, I’m learning that true health isn’t only about nutrients. It’s about environment, culture, and the relationship we build with food. If you’re curious about life in Sweden, wellness, and what consumer culture is really teaching us, I think you’ll enjoy this one. 💬 Tell me in the comments: Does grocery shopping feel calm or stressful where you live? #sweden #americanabroad #explorepage #gothenburg #AmericanInSweden #LivingInSweden #SwedenVsUSA #GroceryStore #FoodCulture #ConsumerCulture #MindfulLiving #WellnessJourney #ExpatLife #HealthyLifestyle #NervousSystemHealth #SlowLiving #herbalist Graceful by Anders Baldwin is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/...
