Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II 4K Video Test (Shot on A7IV) Its here, its here. The Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 G Master II is here!! This is the 24-70mm lens I have been waiting for quite sometime now. So as you guys may know. I am a Wedding filmmaker. So 24-70mm and 70-200mm are my main lenses. And funny enough, I have never bought the original 24-70mm f/2.8 G master lens. Its a long story, so back in the A7SII days (2014 to 2015). I used to shoot buy Canon lenses only. Because I can always use it on my Canon 5D. When I use my Sony system I just simply use a Metabones adapter. But then Sony video autofocus become better and better in every gen. So I didn’t wanna use an adapter anymore. But the Sony 24-70mm G Master Version 1 was big and heavy. So I end up going with Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8. And to be honest, the Tamron lens is just amazing. Especially when using it on a gimbal. I could do a full day wedding with that lens no problem. But sometimes I feel 28mm is a bit too tight for what I do. So when Sony announced the 24-70mm G Master version 2 with just 695g. And I was like, it is a perfect lens for me. And I had to get one. So the build quality on this lens is spectacular. As we have expected from a G Master series. It feels really good in hands. The video auto focus is phenomenal. And I like they improve the minimum focusing. So I don’t need to carry another macro lens at the wedding for just one wedding ring shot. Over all, this is one of the best Sony lenses I have ever used. The image quality is insane. And compared with the previous 24-70mm G Master. I think Sony has improved a lot. Not just about the image quality, they have also cut down the weight and size. Makes this lens become a good travel lens too. If you like the music from this video, please check out Artist.
