Over the course of a week in early January, I and oftentimes family members go to my run-down mobile home to clear out the mountains of junk left there by the previous owner(s). Apparently I needed something bigger than a 20-yard dumpster because there was still some trash left even after filling the dumpster to its capacity, but it's not worth getting a second one, so it'll just be taken out slowly over time. If you're looking for the version of this video with much less time spent on timelapses and much more time spent on talking, you can see that one here: • Dumpster commentary Since this video is predominantly timelapses, it may not always be clear what's going on, so here's some extra information about what's shown: 1. Not everything is shown. I was putting this together without a videographer, using my phone and one tripod, so you only get one angle of a fair amount of the things that were done. 2. The washing and drying machines were moved to the front porch to make room to bring things through the tight entryway. I'm not getting rid of them, though, because besides the fact that the dumpster wouldn't accept appliances, I think they may still work, and they'd be expensive otherwise. 3. In the middle, one of the wagon's wheels stopped holding air, so containers of trash had to be carried and/or dragged around rather than conveniently rolled away on the wagon. 4. Towards the end, the dumpster was getting too full for indiscriminate dumping of trash, so there was some sorting to decrease the volume. In particular, burnables and aluminum were sorted out. 5. The doors leaning against the wall in the end are new (but used) doors which will be installed at a later time. 6. It was rather disappointing that the plastic on the back wall was coming off for my big reveal, but that's the way it goes. After many repair attempts, I think I've finally gotten it to stay up, but you'll see it down in the future. 7. The trash piled up on the front porch is a combination of aluminum cans, springs I took out of the dumpster to make more room, and a piece of flooring foam that blew off of the top of the overflowing dumpster. There's also a tire that wasn't allowed to be thrown away in the dumpster. Aside from my helpers, Greg and Angela Richter are the rockstars of this video because they were the ones who decided to put up the money for a dumpster after I said it would be too much of an investment for me in my "Trials and tribulations with trash" video.
