But one hero has proven himself to be the most consistent, simplest and safest hero to play as a reliable Carry: Dragon Knight. For the longest time, Dragon Knight was a popular Offlane and even Midlane hero with his Corossive Dragon as it provided him a lot of early-game value to initiate and gank while still keeping, for the most part, the strength of his ultimate ability Dragon form. From 7.36a, 7.36b and 7.37, that Corossive Dragon facet was nerfed while his other facet, Fire Dragon, has been regularly buffed (7.36a, 7.36c) and still holds popularity today even with a minor nerf in 7.37d. The Fire Dragon facet cleave effect can be understood in two parts: 1. When in human form, you only cleave at 50% which is about half of Sven’s Great Cleave at max level 2. however, when in dragon form, Dragon Knight cleaves equal to Sven’s, 100% but evidently at range and it splashes, so you’re hitting all units around a specific target. So what makes Dragon Knight so easy to play and so fitting in this meta is that his laning is relatively safe, his farming is efficient with Mask of Madness and Armlet and he comes online at around 30 to 35 minutes, the standard for most current Pos 1 carries. With his Dragon’s Blood Innate ability giving him a strong boost in health regeneration and armor, it means he can start jungling any time his lane is pushed out and the low cooldown of his Dragon Form means he can effectively farm with increased movement speed and increased damage with a low cooldown of only 40 seconds since his Dragon Form lasts 60 seconds and the cooldown is 100 seconds, thus 40 seconds left on the cooldown when his Dragon Form duration wraps up. But instead of me yapping all day about Dragon Knight, we can just take a look at one of my games where I show and live-commentate why he is so easy to play.
