Bolgoda Pawan – sung by Chamara Amarasinghe, written by Janaka Seneviratne, and composed by Darshana Wickramathunga. I produced this song to fill an artistic void as very few songs have been written about the University of Moratuwa. As the number one ranked technological university in Sri Lanka, UOM attracts the brightest minds but UOM is not known for its romantic atmosphere. Nevertheless, Bolgoda Lake and Kaju Kelaya gave students the unique perspective that science, social life, and romanticism can co-exist. I have deliberately selected a young singer Chamara for this song to relate it to the young people who studied /are studying in this great university. As a person who studied at UOM in the mid-eighties with my two brothers, I would like to dedicate this song to the past, present, and future students of UOM. The video content of this song belongs to many as noted at the end of the video. I would like to extend my gratitude to them for allowing me to use their products for this non-commercial song production. My special thanks to the UOM Administration for approval given for using internal video footage for this song and to Dr. Eng. A G T Sugathapala, Senior Lecturer for coordinating and recommending administrative approval and taking accountability of my actions. The complete production of this song was funded by me and its use for entertainment purposes is allowed. I have developed and uploaded an official karaoke track as well.
