This video is dedicated to all of you who are just starting to play/listen to shoegaze - the world needs more like you! (: Here I'm showing up some of the tips and tricks I've learned on how to - try - to tame wild reverb tails and muddy distortions or fuzzes when playing shoegaze. Sometimes, things can get too blurry, not necessarily in the way you want for a specific song or context, so I hope this helps you out. Today, we're exploring three "basic" types of reverb for shoegaze - Gated, Modulated and Hall reverbs - debating on the difference between them, what makes each of them so special, and how to better mix these effects with fuzz.
